Anticipating the bonk is probably way more fun than the caterwauls that would ensue post-bonk. Cora and Max shared some bonk-free playtime this evening.

Day 29 - Over Lap
Bren spends her days on her laptop, while Cora spends her days atop Bren's lap. Naturally, Cora only really gets into the screen content when this humble blog is up, or anything with monkeys. She loves monkeys.

Day 28 - Eye Was Framed
Unconfirmed reports have surfaced, describing a laughter-esque sound coming from Cora. Just remember where you heard it first, when the Huff tries to scoop me tomorrow.

Day 27 - Wild Child
Whilst walking the dog, Bren encountered a wild bear wandering alone, deep in the vast expanses of Wildflower Park. Magnanimous to a fault, Bren brought the wee bear home. After nourishment and kisses, the bear chose to soak in the tub and requested a swaddle. Bren's such a push-over.
Day 26 - Latching: Part Deux
Showing those primates the meaning of opposable, Cora demonstrates her dexterity by grabbing one of their stuffed brethren.

Day 25 - Target Rich Environment
Carrying through yesterday's theme, we had a big day of ghost-riding the aisles of big box stores. Consumerism so epic that our shopping was scored by Kenny Loggins.

Day 24 - Muffin Top Gun
We were trying out potential costumes today, but Cora couldn't decide between Slider and Maverick. After a while, it was clear that she was about to lose that loving feeling, so we knew she felt the need to feed.

Day 23 - Beer, Bottle
It's only a matter of time until our species evolves to the point where beer is able to provide all the nutrient content necessary for metabolic function.

Day 22 - Suck it Cats
The proverbial "they" claim that watching a tank full of fish, or petting a cat can help lower blood pressure. Well fish and cats can both suck it! Nothing soothes the soul like a sweet little baby. Studies have shown that work related stress is nearly eradicated by a Cora smile. Nine out of ten dentists agree.

Day 21 - It's a Girl!
Our daughter has been mistaken for a boy by strangers, and that makes me happy. If I have my way with things, there will be a whole lot of confusion when puberty strikes. Unfortunately, there's an opposition movement somewhere in my household, and until I ferret them out, I fear that Cora's sense of gender equality is being irreparably undermined.
Author's note: Check out the perfectly sane, and in no way crazy, little girl in pic 3.

Day 20 - She Shall Overcome
Babies love getting shots, nearly as much as dogs love the smell of the vet's office. Cora started the visit out mellow and yellow, but after three jabs to the legs, things got real. Condition purple was lowered back to pre-threat levels once mom worked her magic.

Day 19 - Happy Two Moth Birthday
That's right readers... We've managed to keep our kid alive for two whole months. Woot, woot! Bren cooked up some carrot cake muffins vitamins for Cora to enjoy staring at, while we savored their solid foodiness. At least we think she enjoyed staring at them. Maybe she was just transfixed by the flames.

Day 18 - Smith Rock Salt
What a place for Cora's inaugural hike! Sunshine, shorts, and sweat in the middle of January. Even though Cora slept for most of the climb up to the ridge, she was a veritable sponge: soaked through, compliments of dear ol' dad.

Day 17 - A Tale of Two Sweeties
Bren and baby are betwixt biological brethren and BFFs, because of bouts of bonding over books and baths. Whew! The author apologizes for all the aureate* articulation.
*Author's note: Read that word in a book the other day and just had to find a way to get it into the blog.

Day 16 - Man Handles
Max flexed his neural connections for Cora by demonstrating some svelte hand-eye coordination. Rising to the occasion, Cora attempts to grab the blue monster, instead smacking herself in the face before settling on an inadvertent interlocking of digits.

Day 15 - Owl-coholic
Cora is addicted to hooters, so it seemed only natural that we get her an owl. Next up, maybe a Jersey Cow? Or a Blue-footed Booby? Titmouse?

Day 14 - Kickin' It Pre School
Cora got hooked up with some fresh kicks today, and a bangin' blankie. Big ups to the peeps who treated our chitlin proper. Respect.

Day 13 - So Long Landfill, Hello Watershed
Now that we've given the landfill a healthy dose of Cora by-product, we figured it was time to share the wealth with our local watershed. So today we tried out the cloth diapers, and thus began the weaning off of old Knott Landfill from the goodness of Cora.

Day 12 - Babies Got Back Together
Just like a high school reunion, the attendees recognized that they were considerably thinner the last time they were together.
